A Trip to Des Moines!
We had a great weekend to the East in Des Moines, Iowa. I got Mrs. Douglas tickets to see the Book of Mormon for Christmas, so we drove down Friday afternoon after work. Laura’s Aunt and Uncle graciously let us crash at their place, and even treated us to several awesome home cooked meals (featuring Red Velvet Pancakes/Waffles and stuffed pasta shells) as well as taking us out to an awesome restaurant, the Fighting Burrito (more on that in a bit)!
The Book of Mormon was awesome! It can only be described as a “real life South Park episode,” with all the profanity/obscenities one comes to expect. From start to end, both Mrs. Douglas and I were completely enthralled, and to be quite honest, laughed our asses off! We will definitely be seeing it again when in rolls into Omaha next October!
After the show, we met back up with Mrs. Douglas’ relatives and checked out the Fighting Burrito in downtown Des Moines. It was incredible! The ingredients were fresh and interesting… in fact there were so many choices/combinations that you could probably eat there for several months and try something new each time! There were even vegetarian options (Soyrizo) that Mrs. Douglas definitely appreciated. I loaded up my burrito with white rice, pork, grilled onions/peppers, sour cream, cheese, spicy corn and Jalapeno Peach salsa… it was simply #amazeballs!
Anyways, here are the shots from this weekend, and thanks again to the Yordanoff’s for hosting us!
Knudson Christmas 2012 Photos
As promised in an earlier post, here are the shots from Knudson Christmas 2012. Most of these came out pretty well. Although the content is pretty much dominated by my young nephew Silas (it was his first Christmas!), I did manage to take some pictures of other things to balance it out!
