Game 9: CU vs Fuskers

It’s pains my fingers to type this, but CU fell to our in-state rivals the Fuskers 59-54.  We were up 29-21 at half, but then Nebraska came out of the locker room shooting lights out!  It was a very long and depressing ride back to Omaha, but we will get them next year!

Game 8: CU vs BYU

What a game!  It was a real treat seeing a high caliber player like Jimmer Fredette in person.  Our defense had him locked down pretty much all game, keeping him to a modest 13 points, but guarding him all night came at a huge cost.  BYU’s Brandon Davies (who came into the game averaging like 8 points) had a career high 24 points! Credit to BYU, they are going to be a very dangerous team come March.

The Jays were paced by Doug McDermott, who had 20 points and 12 rebounds.. and to think there was talk about red-shirting him!

The craziest thing happened after the game.  BYU travels very well, and they came out back on to court after the game to greet their fans.  It was like at a concert or something… I have never seen anything like it!

Game 7: CU vs Princeton Offense (Northwestern!)

Wow… props to Northwestern, they executed the Princeton Offense nearly flawlessly.  I think they are going to surprise some people in the Big 10.  I can definitely see how that type of offense can be a nightmare if you don’t play it on a regular basis.  This was our first true road game of the year, and all thing considered we made a decent showing.  Hopefully we can bounce back at home against a nationally ranked BYU!
